Gout

This is a form of arthritis that arises when uric acid builds up in the bloodstream and causes joint inflammation particularly around the joints of big toe, ankle and knee. Symptoms often affect middle age men and females after menopause and are described as sudden onset of pain with throbbing sensation, with the joint being red, warm and tender. This can last for a few days and can return occasionally, possibly lasting longer each time.
